L’ultima cena/ Last Supper, Installazione, Bolgheri Green, 2022
L’installazione richiama nel titolo, nella forma e nel contenuto la tavola rappresentata nel celebre affresco di Leonardo. Sulla tavola però non ci sono il pane ed i pesci, come su quella raffigurata dal genio di Vinci, ma sono disposti i rifiuti raccolti dagli autori lungo le spiagge ed alla foce del fiume Cecina. L’installazione testimonia il diffuso fenomeno dell’abbandono dei rifiuti che contribuisce all’ inquinamento delle acque e dei litorali e richiama tutti all’urgenza di un cambiamento nei comportamenti individuali e collettivi tali da preservare l’ambiente naturale. Quasi fosse un problema secondario, viene disperso nell’ambiente un po’di tutto con disarmante superficialità. Tali comportamenti contribuiscono a realizzare una pericolosa alterazione degli ecosistemi mettendo in pericolo la sopravvivenza di molte forme di vita. Inoltre molto di ciò che viene abbandonato ritorna sulle nostre tavole attraverso le catene alimentari. Così facendo l’uomo segna negativamente il futuro non solo del mare ma anche il proprio e soprattutto quello delle future generazioni.
ENGLISH VERSION – The installation recalls in its title, form and content the famous painting of Leonardo. However on the table, there is no bread or fish (as on the one depicted by the genius of Vinci) but rather some long lasting waste collected by the two authors from the surrounding beaches and along the river Cecina. The installation is a big call out at the phenomenon of waste, which contributes to the pollution of waters, coasts and reminds everyone that there is an urgency to change both individual and collective behaviours in order to preserve the natural environment. People tend to throw away with disarming superficiality any object, as if it was not their problem. Such behaviours contribute to a dangerous alteration of ecosystems, endangering the survival of many forms of life. Moreover, much of what is abandoned returns to our tables through food chains. This way, humanity negatively marks the future not only of the sea but also of his own species, impacting mostly future generations.
